As a health care practitioner, Chelsey is dedicated to wellness and inspiring others to achieve balance in their health. In 2009 she graduated from the 3000-hour diploma program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor, completing her training through Feel Good Yoga in Langford in 2012. Through education and natural therapies, her passion is to be a healthy part of her client’s lives.
Chelsey is a positive person whose lifestyle embraces complete body health. She feels that it is important that we take the best possible care of the only body we are given in this lifetime. Our bodies run optimally when they are supplied properly with what they need, including nutrition, water, exercise, rest, and reparative therapies.
Every body is unique, so each person requires customized massage treatments to reach their specific goals. Chelsey will take her client’s health history, current condition, and personal preferences into consideration when creating their treatment plan. If indicated, she will also suggest other therapies or lifestyle changes that can help. Chelsey works with each individual to help them achieve a new level of personal wellbeing and happiness.
There are many different conditions that massage can help with, Chelsey enjoys helping her clients with all of them and takes a special interest in: postural imbalances/dysfunction, sports therapy, injury prevention, headaches, whiplash, iliotibial band dysfunction, hypomobility, pregnancy, TMJ dysfunctions, arthritis, sciatica/piriformis syndrome, stress management, and working with children and teens.
Among others techniques, Chelsey regularly uses: muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, isolitic release, deep tissue, contract-relax, joint mobilizations, passive stretching, Swedish massage, cross-fibre frictions, and fascial cupping as needed. She also offers aromatherapy and paraffin add-ons to enhance treatments.
When she’s not working, Chelsey enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, going to the gym, hiking out in nature, practicing yoga, listening to guided meditations, shopping at local markets for healthy food, playing board games and cards, going for self-care treatments, and petting the neighbour’s cats.
